A homeless man is dead and a 42-year-old woman is wounded following a shooting in Tacarigua last night.
Reports state that around 7:35pm, the woman was liming with friends on McConnie Street, Dinsley Village, when they were approached by two masked gunmen who shot at them.
The woman tried to run away but was shot in her right leg which caused her to fall.
Police said one of the gunmen walked up to the woman as she lay on the ground and tried to shoot her again, but the gun jammed.
Both attackers then ran away.
Passersby took the wounded woman to hospital.
Investigators later found the homeless man’s lifeless body with gunshot wounds.
He had been hit by stray bullets.
The man has not been officially identified but was known by people in the area as ‘Ricky’.
