HDC Doing Preliminary Work At Todd Street, San Fernando

The Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation is currently conducting site identification, and assessment on lands situate at Todd Street in San Fernando.

The HDC in fulfilment of its housing mandate is engaged in an ongoing land audit exercise to determine the suitability of lands to satisfy the demand for housing, particularly in areas that provide the opportunity for sustainable urban development.

These preliminary planning works include inter alia, survey work, traffic surveys and studies, and geotechnical and topographical investigations.

Against this background, consultation with any stakeholder is premature; the Corporation is committed to engaging all stakeholders to hear their views and concerns.

The HDC says it will also ensure the following is done in keeping with best practices:

  • Engagement of a traffic management engineer/consultant;
  • Town and Country Planning Division approval to guide the Corporation on the appropriate use of land;
  • TCPD approval to guide site development, inclusive of parking arrangements.

The Corporation thanks the citizens of San Fernando for their understanding and patience as it continues its preliminary activities.
