Harvey Weinstein found guilty of rape and sexual assault

Former Hollywood film mogul Harvey Weinstein has been found guilty of three counts of sexual assault, including rape.

A BBC report indicates that court documents state Weinstein used his influence to lure women into private meetings before attacking them.

The 70-year-old faces up to 24 years in prison when sentenced.

Weinstein is already serving 23 years in jail after he was convicted of rape and sexual assault at his first trial in New York two years ago.

Jurors found Weinstein not guilty of one count of sexual battery by restraint against another woman.

They were a hung jury on one count of sexual battery by restraint, one count of forcible oral copulation and one count of rape related to two other women — including Jennifer Siebel Newsom, a filmmaker and first partner to California Governor Gavin Newsom.
