Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley in Barbados this morning. The MOU between the two countries is for energy development.

During the Post-Cabinet briefing yesterday, Energy Minister Franklin Khan revealed that gas was discovered in wells on the north-eastern side of TT’s maritime acreage. Some of the wells are located near to the TT-Barbados maritime border.
Energy Minister Franklin Khan, Minister in the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration Minister Allyson West and Caricom Affairs Minister Dennis Moses will also journey to Barbados along with Dr. Rowley.
The gas discovery was made by BHP BIlliton.
