The government will maintain a deficit budget.
Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, said he will stay with tradition and allow the Minister of Finance to announce the date for the presentation of the national budget.
Speaking at the weekly post cabinet news briefing held at the Diplomatic Centre on Thursday, Dr Rowley said the government has to treat with its debt position as well as the level of borrowing it can engage in.
Expediture and earnings are two areas the ruling adminsitration is closely monitoring.
It was revealed after the budget is delivered, the government plans to hold a spotlight on the economy adding such a move is necessary in order to review the performance of the economy, address challenges identified and chart a more focused way forward.
