Germany’s football team has been knocked out of the World Cup despite a 4-2 win over Costa Rica at Al Bayt Stadium.
It is the second consecutive World Cup where Germany has exited at the group stage after they finished bottom of their group in Russia in 2018.
Japan topped Group E and reached the last 16, overcoming Spain (2-1) who will join them in the knockout stage.
Meanwhile, Belgium have been knocked out of the World Cup at the group stage as Croatia progressed at their expense with a goalless draw in Qatar.
Croatia will be joined by Morocco who topped the group and also progress to the next stage of the tournament.
