OLEISEY WISE, 22, of Glenroy Settlement, Buen Intento Road, Princes Town, appeared virtually before Senior Magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine of the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court Thursday.
He was sentenced to four years hard labour.
Wise was charged with robbery with violence following a report made to the Princes Town Criminal Investigation Department.
It was reported that on August 31st , 2021, a Princes Town market vendor was alledgedly approached by a man with a firearm outside of his home.
The man proceeded to rob him of a quantity of cash, jewellery, an air rifle and a quantity of pellets.
The man also allegedly dealt him several blows about his body and ran off.
The man made a report to the Princes Town Police Station where PC Basdeo, of Princes Town CID, investigated the matter.
He later arrested and charged Wise for the offence.
The investigation was supervised by Sergeant Teeluck.
