Fishing Agreement To Be Finalised After Fish Stock Assessment Between TT And Barbados

A final fishing agreement between Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados will be arrived at after conclusive data is collected and an assessment of the fish stock is done.

Foreign and Caricom Affairs Minister, Dr Amery Browne, says deliberations between officials from both sides have been taking place.

He gave the update during his response to a question posed by the Opposition through Senator Wade Mark who wanted to know whether talks are being held between both Governments to address reports of overfishing disputes between Tobago and Barbados fishermen.

It was revealed bilateral talks have been held between officials from Tobago House of House Assembly, Foreign and Caricom Affairs, Coast Guard, and Barbados representatives.
