Classes were dismissed early on Tuesday following a fatal shooting outside a school in the Belmont/Gonzales community.
Confirmation of this comes from Education Minister, Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, during the question and answer period in the Senate on Tuesday.
It was revealed the school is expected to be closed on Wednesday as the Police Service continues their probe into the incident.
Once this process is completed classes will resume and workers from the student support services will be brought in to provide the necessary counselling with students, parents and teaching staff.
