The Communication Workers Union is not in support of government’s announced plans to increase the pension age from 60 to 65.
Secretary General of the CWU, Clyde Elder, made the remark while speaking during an interview on the Afternoon Power Drive Programme on Power 102 Digital Wednesday.
Mr Elder suggested close attention should be placed on the performance of the pension fund ensuring there is proper management.
The trade unionist also proposed focused to be placed on job creation, dealing with employers who are not paying workers NIS and getting more self-employed persons into the national insurance Scheme.
Mr Elder cited several companies which have sent home a number of workers adding this contributes to a decline in the amount of workers who can support the pension fund.
