Child Affairs Division partners with TTPOST to get vital information out to every home

The Gender and Child Affairs Division of the Office of the Prime Minister has embarked on an aggressive campaign, which will see over 300,000 pamphlets on child protection being distributed via TT Post.

The initiative will kick off in the coming week and will see a total of 395,934 pamphlets and other material being delivered to households throughout T&T.

According to a release from Ayanna Webster-Roy, Minister with Responsibility for Gender and Child Affairs, the material reportedly provides child abuse tips and hotline numbers (i.e. Children’s Authority: 996 and TTPS:999) where persons may report suspected cases of abuse.

The goal, as stated by the release, is for every household to become a safe space where children’s rights are protected, respected and promoted, ensuring that no child is left behind.

It adds that the mass distribution effort will continue with the next phase of the material being shared with Government Ministries, Libraries, Health Facilities, Members of Parliament and the Tobago House of Assembly Secretaries and Assemblymen.

The distribution exercise is a collaborative effort involving the Child Affairs Division and TTPOST.
