A man and woman were arrested after they crashed their vehicle during a high-speed chase with police along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in Mausica on Monday 4th December.
The suspects were identified as 43-year-old John James of San Pablo, Valencia who was on the run from police for approximately six months and 35-year-old Victoria Sue of Samaroo Village, Arima.
Around 10pm, officers were reportedly conducting roadblock exercises along the highway, when a white Kia van attempted to drive away from the scene.
The officers pursued and the occupants of the van attempted to drive off in the vicinity of Pricesmart; however, the driver lost control and crashed into a drain near the roadway.
The two occupants were subsequently detained and taken to the Arima Hospital, where they were treated before being questioned and charged.
