Cost: $65M, Results: 0 – TTPS vehicles with x-ray scanners yield no results

The TTPS has been spending 1.8 million dollars per month on two crime fighting vehicles which are yet to yield any results.

The revelation comes from Acting police Commissioner McDonald Jacob.

The vehicles with X-ray capabilities were leased under Gary Griffith’s tenure as top cop and an agreement commenced on December 1, 2019, for a four-year period.

Commissioner Jacob told Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show that the vehicle has cost almost 65 million dollars over the past 3 years with no results to show for it.

He added that there are also financial discrepancies surrounding the use of the vehicles as the monthly fee surpasses the expenditure limit which the Office of the Commissioner is permitted to sign off on.
