Children’s Authority: Children are not to be used as bargaining chips in disputes

The Children’s Authority is urging people to keep children out of disputes.

The statement comes on the heels of yesterday’s murder of 4-year-old Amarah Lallitte in Arouca.

The incident was described by the Authority as both horrific and brutal.

CEO Sheldon Cyrus says children are not to be used as bargaining chips in relationships and reminds that it stands ready to help police and the judiciary bring perpetrators to justice.

He notes that parents, caregivers or families who need support in dealing with challenges can call the following:

Social Development Ministry: 800-1673
