Charlieville fire claims life of mom and daughter

A house was destroyed by fire in Charlieville on Friday morning and the bodies of two people, believed to be a mother and her daughter, were found.

The incident happened at Warner Village, Charlieville.

Police said fire officers responded to a report of a house fire at around 12.15am.

After the flames were extinguished, fire officers were alerted that the mother and her 14-year-old daughter could not be found.

Police said two bodies were recovered inside the house later on, burnt beyond recognition.

The remains were removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James, where DNA testing would be done to confirm the identities.
