Diptee Ramnath, the Councillor for the Electoral District of Quinam/Morne Diablo and Chairman of the Penal/Debe Regional Corporation, has past away.
He reportedly died last night after ailing for some time.
The 63-year-old Ramnath lived at Goodman Trace, Penal.
Ramnath previously served under the UNC before crossing over to the PNM. In 2010, while as the lone PNM Councillor for the Electoral District of Quinam/Morne Diablo, he crossed the floor again to the UNC.
In August of this year, he was sworn-in as Chairman of the Penal/Debe Regional Corporation. He would have celebrated his 64th birthday in 21 days on January 13th.
