The business community is in mourning today, following the passing of powerful businesswoman Helen Bhagwansingh at the age of 83.
“Mrs B”, as she was called by her employees, passed away overnight after ailing for some time.
Her family have announced that all Bhagwansingh stores will be closed for the day.
Bhagwansingh and her husband Hubert built Bhagwansingh’s Hardware and Steel Industries Ltd with its first location in Port of Spain.
The business was successful and led to the opening of other outlets in Chaguanas, Marabella and Trincity.
