Brian Manning to run for Vice Chairman post in PNM internal election

The post of People’s National Movement vice chairman in the PNM’s upcoming internal elections will be contested by Minister in the Ministry of Finance Brian Manning.

This was confirmed by Manning himself ahead of nomination day next Monday.

The PNM’s upcoming elections will be held over three days–November 26 to 27 and December 4. Its convention will also be held on December 4. There are 16 posts up for grabs (minus the four posts of deputy leader).

The PNM’s current executive comprises people who were on a slate headed by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley which won the 2018 internal elections.

Rowley is being challenged in the election by ex-PNM minister Karen Nunez-Tesheira.

The post of vice chairman became vacant when Robert Le Hunte resigned in December 2021, after quitting as Public Utilities minister in May 2020.
