Bandits robbed a Chinese restaurant in Arouca on Sunday morning, making off with $550 from the register and a cellphone worth $3,000 which was taken from the teenaged cashier.
Around 11 am, the 19-year-old was at her Eastern Main Road, Arouca workplace when she heard a voice shouting, “Get on the ground!”
She said she looked around and saw a gunman and two accomplices standing behind her. One of the men grabbed her by the back of the neck and ordered her to open the register. He then took her cellphone, an iPhone 11. The men three then ran off.
Police said the cashier was left traumatised by the incident.
