Ammunition And Narcotics Seized in North Eastern Division – One Arrested

Officers attached to the North Eastern Division have seized eight rounds of 9mm ammunition, nine rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, one magazine, one bullet proof vest and 55 grams of cocaine.

Anti-crime exercises were conducted between the hours of 8:00 pm and 11:00 pm in the Morvant and Barataria districts by officers of the North Eastern division in several crime hot spot areas, including abandoned houses and nearby bushes in the Mon Repos, Never Dirty, Coconut Drive, Seventh Avenue, 2nd Caledonia, 6th Avenue, Don Miguel, William Street areas.

While searching an abandoned house located in the vicinity of Harmony Hill, the officers found and seized eight rounds of 9mm ammunition, nine rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, and one magazine in the ceiling of the
house.

Searches were also conducted in some bushes close to the house and a bullet proof vest was found.

The officers then proceeded to 6th Avenue, Barataria and conducted a search in a pavilion along that said street and
found three transparent packs containing cocaine, the drug weighed 55 grams.

No one was arrested relative to the finds.

Officers also arrested a 29-year-old man of Barataria relative to outstanding reports of Larceny Motor Vehicles.
