On the heels of government’s signing of a multimillion-dollar loan agreement – earlier this week- to improve the country’s water infrastructure, there is an appeal for a proper water supply network in the Oropouche West constituency.
Member of Parliament for Oropouche West, Dave Tancoo, says the lack of a reliable water supply for residents is putting their life and well-being at risk.
In a media release, MP Tancoo said many residents are forced to purchase water from private vendors at exorbitant prices, which places a significant financial burden on already struggling families.
MP Tancoo claimed requests to WASA for a truck-borne supply in many cases are futile, as the demand for the service is clearly higher since there is no water in the pipelines.
