A man identified as Ricky Ramsammy, aka Pooches, was allegedly kidnapped at Frederick Settlement in Caroni on Sunday.
Reports are that around 8 am, 37-year-old Ramsammy was at his home at Knaggs Street, when two motor vehicles — a White Kia K2700 and a Blue Hilux pulled up outside his home.
Five men, all armed with cutlasses, exited the vehicles and accused Ramsammy of stealing a water pump.
They then began to beat him about his body with the cutlasses and then bundled him into the White Kia vehicle and drove off.
Investigations are ongoing.
