Moriah Health Centre officially opened

Residents of Moriah and environs can now boast of a spanking new health facility, with the opening of the Moriah Health Centre on Friday.

Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis was proud of the fact that yet another health facility is available to Tobagonians. He took some time to commend all healthcare workers for their commitment and dedication to service, especially during this period of the COVID-19 pandemic, when medical staff have been going beyond the call of duty.

However, he also emphasized the need for everyone to work towards a healthier lifestyle and grow what we eat.

Secretary of Health, Wellness and Family Development, Tracy Davidson-Celestine, said Tobago’s health care has improved tremendously and it’s no longer just about “needles and prescription.”

Services at the Moriah Health Centre will be expanded to include, walk-ins, adolescent health care services, dental care and an exercise room, specifically for the elderly.

The project was managed by the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (UDeCOTT).
