Ernst and Young To Develop Strategic Plan For T&T Revenue Authority, Says Finance Minister

Consultant firm, Ernst and Young, has been hired to develop a strategic plan for the incoming state revenue-collection agency, Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority.

TTRA is a merger between the Inland Revenue Division and Customs and Excise Division.

Government has defended the formation of the authority explaining there is need to address deficiencies in the current system, with separate revenue-collection and customs agencies.

Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, said the strategic plan has already been laid in the parliament.

Speaking in the House of Representatives Friday afternoon, Minister Imbert said there was what he described as a broad based tender process to develop the TTRA’s strategic plan adding he has the names of the firms which expressed an interest in this aspect of the venture.
