Tobago’s Division of Education, Research and Technology (DERTech) has confirmed that 98 percent of outstanding back pay has been disbursed to teachers on the island.
In a release on Tuesday, DERTech noted that the remaining two per cent of teachers awaiting their payments will be contacted individually as to the status of the process.
DERTech has also requested that eligible retired teachers contact the department via telephone to provide their banking details for the processing of their due payments. The release said that prompt attention to this matter would ensure timely disbursement of funds.
It stated further that the division is also working diligently to resolve all outstanding matters.
