6 charged as police crackdown on robbery ring

Officers made another significant breakthrough in the area of robberies, as six suspects appeared at the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court on Friday, after they were charged in relation to a spate of robberies which occurred in various districts across Trinidad.

Painstaking investigations and inter-department collaboration led to the arrest of the six suspects; Recardo Fletcher, Marlon Rogers, Daniel Patterson, Keston Johnson, Mycerinus Laborde and Devon Joseph.

Following the advice from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard SC, the accused were charged with robbery, larceny motor vehicle and for being members of a gang.

The accused were allegedly involved in a series of robberies, including a reported incident that occurred at Pine Ridge Heights, Arouca on June 26, where the victim was robbed of $100,000 cash by armed suspects and was shot and wounded.
