Charges will be laid against a 27-year-old man of Rio Claro, for the double murder of 13-year-old Andrea Lallan, and her uncle Sylvan Lallan which occurred on September 29th, 2023, and an additional charge of attempted murder and possession of firearm and ammunition.
The 13-year-old victim had reported to police that she was sexually assaulted by a Rio Claro couple. Police did not tben identify the victim as Andrea Lallan but stated that the couple included a 23-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man, who were both charged with two offenses of sexual penetration of a 13-year-old girl. Mere hours after the 13-year-old Rio Claro schoolgirl attended an identification parade to point out the perpetrators who had sexually assaulted her, she and her uncle were shot dead and her father was critically wounded in their home early yesterday.
The 27-year-old man will also answer to an additional charge of attempted murder and possession of firearm and ammunition. An investigative team who presented evidence to the DPP, from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Two, under the supervision of Head of Homicide, Snr. Supt. Rishi Singh, ASP Victor, Insp. Ramjag and Sgt Ramsahi Singh continued diligent investigations and the suspect was later arrested. The DPP advised that the suspect be charged.
