2 arrested for break-in at bar along O’Meara Road, Arima

Two men, 18 and 21 years of age are now in police custody after they were arrested following a report of Store Breaking and Larceny in Malabar yesterday.

A party of officers whilst on mobile patrol in the Malabar district, received information of a man on premises and proceeded to a bar located at O’Meara Road, Arima, when officers arrived at the scene the bar owner reported that he received a phone call that there were loud noises on the rooftop of the establishment.

The officers surrounded the premises and made checks and it was observed that unauthorized entry was gained through a hole cut in the galvanise roof. A diligent search was conducted in and around the premises and whilst checking on the eastern side of the building, officers found two suspects.

Further checks were made at the establishment and it was observed that a door on the southern side was pried open and house breaking implements were found. A brown box containing a quantity of alcohol, cigarettes and a quantity of money was recovered at the location.
Enquiries are continuing.
