15 Percent Of TT Population Living With Diabetes

It is estimated 15 percent of the country’s population is living with diabetes.

More young people are living with type two Diabetes.

This information was obtained during a national study done in 2011 by the international Diabetes Federation.

This is revealed by the President of the Diabetes Association of Trinidad and Tobago, Andrew Dhanoo.

He was at the time speaking during a sitting of the Joint Select Committee on Social Services and Public Administration.

The Committee inquired into Trinidad and Tobago’s response to the prevalence of non-communicable diseases with specific focus on Diabetes, Cardiological Diseases and Cancer.
