Woman rams car into bandit after car sale goes awry

Quick thinking by a 20-year-old woman saved her and her father from being the victims of a robbery, or even worse, in the Penal area on Sunday.

Around 12pm, the young woman and her 40-year-old father went to Fazal Avenue, Penal, to sell their brown Kia Sportage to a man they met online.

However, they were greeted by two men, who they thought were the customers.

The father got out of the car to open the bonnet to show the men, as two other gunmen ran out of nearby bushes and announced a robbery.

The daughter, who was still seated in the car, saw the bandits and drove off, knocking down one of the bandits and crashing into a wall.

One of the bandits shot at the car hitting the right side of the bonnet.

The bandits ran to a Nissan AD Wagon that was parked nearby and drove off.

Penal police and officers of the South Western Division Task Force were called in and searched for the bandits but didn’t find anyone.

The white Nissan AD Wagon was found abandoned on Sunrees Trace, Penal.
