Woman and driver killed in Gasparillo on their way to the airport

A brazen attack by criminals has left 40 year old Kimberly Beharry, and Brian Geoffrey, 60 dead after they were attacked by unknown assailants on their way to the airport.  Gunmen opened fire on a vehicle in Gasparillo, killing the woman who was returning to the USA, and the driver of the car taking her to the airport early Sunday morning.

Geoffrey’s wife, Jasmine Geoffrey, who was in the front passenger seat of the car, was also shot and was hospitalised.
The assailants drove a white Nissan Tiida that cornered Geoffrey’s Honda City near the Gasparillo overpass on the Solomon Hochoy Highway.
The fatal attack occurred as Beharry who was booked on a flight to return to her home in Long Branch New Jersey and at around 1 a.m. was picked up by Geoffrey and his wife from her local home on Bedeau Street in Gasparillo.

Detectives were told that the white Nissan Tiida tailed Geoffrey’s vehicle and upon reaching the Gasparillo overpass, the occupants opened fire. A wounded Geoffrey drove the vehicle into a barrier of the compound of the Paria Fuel Trading Company and crashed. Geoffrey and Beharry died at the scene.

The criminals escaped along the northbound lane of the highway.
Geoffrey’s wife was taken to the hospital where she was hospitalised and is under police guard. PCs Battan and Mohammed were on duty at 1.20 a.m. at the Gasparillo police station when they received a report of a shooting. Investigations are continuing.
