UNFPA donates 39 tablets Central Registry for Gender-Based Violence

The Gender and Child Affairs Division received thirty-nine (39) tablets from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for use by stakeholders of the Central Registry for Gender-Based Violence (CRGBV).

The devices were donated by the UNFPA under the Spotlight Initiative which is funded by the European Union.

Mr. Alexander Gittens, Gender-Based Violence Project Manager of the UNFPA presented the tablets to the Honourable Ayanna Webster-Roy, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Gender and Child Affairs. His Excellency Peter Cavendish, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Delegation of the European Union was also present at the handover which took place on Wednesday 31st January, 2024 at the Division’s St Clair Office.

The devices will be distributed to stakeholders of the CRGBV within the coming months. Recipients will include Government Ministries, State Agencies, Civil Society Organisations and the Tobago House of Assembly. The CRGBV is an information system which serves as a central repository of data on Gender-Based Violence.

The tablets will provide mobile access to the CRGBV as part of the capacity building initiative.
