A man who will not be easily influenced by external pressure, this is one of the traits Opposition Leader, Kamla Persad Bissessar, put forward during the presentation of the UNC’s nominee for President, Israel Khan.
The Member of the Parliament for Siparia claimed Mr Khan is a man of integrity and loyal service.
Mrs Persad Bissessar said the position of President is not merely a ceremonial role but serve as critical guard rail on the rights and freedom of citizens.
The Opposition Leader cited some of the duties of the President adding citizens will require responsibilities are carried out fairly regardless of race, colour, religion.
