No Plans To Remove Chaguanas Market Vendors

There are no plans to remove vendors from the market in the borough of Chaguanas.

However, on the contrary, accommodations are being carefully arranged to ensure their interests are preserved and their advantages remain intact.

The Chaguanas Borough Corporation says the market is undergoing upgrades initiated by the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government.

It says these upgrades, including the installation of two premium booths, are part of a larger vision for local government transformation.

The primary objective is to diversify revenue streams for the Corporations while maintaining a conducive environment for existing vendors.

One of the booths is situated in an area where no vendors previously operated.

The placement of the second booth necessitated the relocation of  a doubles vendor and a sweets vendor.

However, the public is assured accommodations have been made to ensure that their advantages are not compromised.

A collaborative meeting and site visit were conducted, during which all parties reached an agreement regarding the necessary adjustments.

The Corporation is also in the process of regulating all vendors to the front of the market.

Once completed, this initiative will provide permanent spaces for all vendors, enhancing the organization and efficiency of market operations.
