TTPS Warns Against Speeding, DUIs During Holiday Periods

Twenty –two persons have been killed in road accidents so far this year.

For the same period last year the figure stood at 28.

2,532 speeding tickets have also been issued by police so far this year.

One hundred and eight drivers have also been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Senior Superintendent, Traffic and Highway Patrol Branch, Clint Arthur, made the disclosure while speaking at the weekly police news briefing held at the Police Administrative Building, Port of Spain Thursday.

The Senior Superintendent called on all citizens to observe the various road and traffic regulations as they enjoy the holiday period.
