A freak accident in Freeport last evening has left a 43-year-old truck/trailer driver dead.
Nigel Rampersad of Felicity was on the compound of a warehouse located on Rajkumar Trace, Mission Road, Freeport, just after 6pm last evening, when the incident occurred.
Reports state that Rampersad was making a turn with the truck he was driving, when it somehow ‘jack-knifed’ causing the container attached to fall on the cab of the truck and pin him against the steering wheel.
Rampersad, who was employed with Sampson Transport Company, died instantly.
Investigations are continuing.
