Trade Matters Top Cases Before The Industrial Court

Trade disputes top the list of matters brought before the Industrial Court for 2022\2023.

They amount to 654 cases.

These are for cases relating to both essential and general services division.

Retrenchment and severance benefit disputes, occupational safety and health and  industrial relations offences account for 38, 31 and 25 cases respectively.

Head of the Industrial Court, Deborah Thomas Felix, highlighted these issues during the official opening of the Court on Tuesday.

It was indicated there were 253 judgements, 289 cases were withdrawn, 320 matters were settled through conciliation and bilateral process and 44 cases were dismissed.
