Some recipients of senior citizens’ pensions and other social assistance grants may receive their payments late due to administrative delays.
In a public notice yesterday about the distribution of social assistance grants which include pension, public assistance and disability grants, Social Development and Family Services Minister, Donna Cox, acknowledged there were administrative challenges which have since been rectified.
“We had some administrative challenges which we have rectified and it’s actually some may get their cheques a day late. They have started receiving it already from today and some will receive just a day late,” stated Minister Cox.
According to the ministry, some recipients will receive their grants for the month of June no later than Tuesday, July 2, via the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Services (TTPOST).
The ministry apologised for any inconvenience caused and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to prevent such delays in the future.
