The National Agricultural Marketing and Development Corporation (NAMDEVCO) operates and manages several wholesale produce and seafood markets, across Trinidad.
At present, there are five wholesale markets, however IzzSo Media ventured to the Southern Wholesale Market which is located on the S.S. Erin Road, Debe.
This market provides a spacious facility with secure parking for both customers and vendors.
This market facilitates both wholesale and retail trading.
The Southern Wholesale Market was buzzing with consumers from all over the country, making their way to vendors who were eager to serve.
The market was stocked with fresh vegetables and local fruit, animal produce (chicken and fish) and sections by itself for clothing and household items.
IzzSo Media toured the entire market, which was clean, well organised and spacious for both vendor and consumer to make their way around.
However the highlight at the market was the fresh cane juice on sale – this was provided by Romulus Ramoutar of 100% Pure Cane Juice; who boast has the only mobile cane extractor of its size in the world.

Ramoutar treated customers to fresh cane juice made from the extractor mixed with lime, passion fruit or guava and coffee of your choice, made on the spot all for just $12 per cup.
The Southern Wholesale Market also boast of local sweet delicacies, bottled seasoning, freshly made coconut oil and a handful or rare vegetables grown and hand-picked by local farmers.
The market is managed by a strong and dedicated team – Deputy CEO Rayer Bowen and Corporate Communications Manager Ms. Rachel John, who interacts with vendors to ensure that business at the venue runs smoothly and everyone is treated as family.
