A United States citizen was wounded during an attack by men armed with cutlasses as she sat on the porch of her Penal home on Holy Thursday.
Vinette Benjamin, 41, who has dual citizenship, was sitting on her porch at 10 pm on Holy Thursday when two men dressed in hooodies ran up to her.
One man, described as slim-built and approximately five feet, nine inches tall, approached her. He and his accomplice were armed with cutlasses.
The suspect chopped Benjamin, inflicting several wounds on her body.
They then fled the scene in a silver Nissan Wingroad.
Benjamin was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital by Emergency Health Services, where it was revealed that she suffered significant lacerations to her left shoulder, left arm, right shoulder and left thigh. She also suffered bruising across her upper back and lower chest area.
Penal Police are continuing investigations.
