A 23-year-old Venezuelan national was shot and killed in South Oropouche last night.
The victim has been identified as Daniel Edwardo Manniguez Gonzales.
Gonzales, who was a labourer, lived in an apartment at Pond Road, Aripero Village, South Oropouche.
Around 10:40pm, police officers were alerted to explosions at Gonzales’ apartment and upon arrival, found Gonzales lying unresponsive on the living room floor.
He had gunshot wounds to the head and a chop wound to the neck. There was a blue cloth tied around his right hand, both feet bound with white cloth, and a blue cloth around his neck.
Police are hunting for two Venezuelan migrants in connection with the murder.
Three 9mm bullet casings with the markings TTPS were found at the scene.
Police said the Spanish-speaking men broke into Gonzales’ apartment where he was with his common-law wife, Daniela Barrerra, 20 and neighbour Samuel Richar, 50.
After killing Gonzales, the killers left with his clothing, baby clothes, a Samsung I10 mobile phone, and a Nokia 2.4 mobile phone.
