School Feeding Programme Suppliers Experience Pay Cut Amid Covid19 Pandemic

There is confirmation from the Programme Manager at the National Schools Dietary Services Limited, Stacy Baron; suppliers of meals to the School Feeding Programme have had a cut in their income.

Ms. Baron made the revelation while addressing a sitting of the Public Accounts Enterprises Committee of Parliament Wednesday.

Ms. Baron cited the current challenges facing the company at this time and indicated how it is impacting on operations.

Issues which have come up due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the fallout from such was also brought to the fore front.

Ms. Baron said efforts have been taken to avoid wastage in the process and ensure input is maximized.
The official said discussions have been held with suppliers and they have been cooperating in these deliberations.

Ms. Baron provided the information after being questioned on the matter by Opposition Senator, Wade Mark.
