The producers of this year’s Grand Final of the Chutney Soca Monarch say they will leave no stone unturned to make this one of the most outstanding events in this year’s ‘Taste of Carnival’.
The final of the chutney soca will be held on Carnival weekend.
The semi-final round of the 2022 Chutney Soca Monarch which took place on January 27th was held successfully with thirty-two artistes performing in front of judges only.
Thirty-two video clips of the performances have been packaged and have been released across social media via ‘Southex’ pages – Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
Part of the criteria to get to the Grand Final will be a combination of judge’s marks sixty percent, text voting thirty percent and number of views across social media ten percent.
The Semi Final round also featured performances by four foreign artistes from Canada and the United States of America.
Top female artistes will also be vying for the coveted title of ‘Queen of Chutney Soca’.
Only twelve artistes will be selected to move to the Grand Final.
