Santa Flora man gets six months hard labour for violent threats

A 51-year-old man of Santa Flora, has been sentenced to six months Hard Labour for the offences of Harassment and Making Threats to Kill by putting his victim in fear of violence when he appeared before his Worship Magistrate Nazim Khan at the Siparia Magistrate Court on Friday 21st October, 2022. Both offences are to run consecutively which would run as a 12-month sentence.

On Sunday 16th October, 2022, around 12:30 pm the victim received a phone call from the Defendant who made threats to kill her. It was reported that on Monday 17th October, 2022 and
Tuesday 18th October, 2022, the victim received a phone call from the Defendant where threats were made to kill her.

A report was made on Tuesday 18th October, 2022, and PC Noel arrested and charged the defendant on October 20th, 2022.

Investigation were supervised by Ag/ Supt Claire Guy-Alleyne, Sgt Taylor and Cpl Singh
