Sangre Grande doubles vendor robbed, cops on the hunt for 2 suspects

Sangre Grande police are on the hunt for the bandits who robbed a 34-year-old doubles vendor on Friday.

The woman, from Guaico, Tamana Road, Cunapo, told police that she was sitting at the back of her business – J and M Doubles on the Southern Main Road, Coalmine, around 10:15am, when she observed a masked man, armed with a gun walking towards her.

The suspect, described as short, skinny, and dark-skinned in complexion, announced a hold up and demanded cash.

The woman took him to the front of the business where he proceeded to take approximately $2,800 from the money drawer.

She also observed another masked man, with a rifle in his hands, running towards her. Both men then made their escape by running through the kitchen and into a forested area to the back.
