Rondon to be laid to rest next Wednesday

Terry Rondon, the former chairman of the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation, who passed away earlier this week, will be laid to rest on Wednesday 6th, December.

The funeral service will be held at the St Charles RC Church in Tunapuna at 11 am. Following the service there will be a public viewing at the National Racquet Centre, Orange Grove Road, Tacarigua, and then to the nearby Belgroves Funeral Home, Trincity, for the cremation.

Before that, Rondon’s body will be taken on Monday to the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation, where he spent 28 years as both a councillor and chairman, for public viewing.

A motorcade is also planned for Monday from Matelot to the corporation in the former councillor’s honour.

Rondon, who was also the councillor for Valencia East/Toco, suffered a heart attack after returning home from physical therapy on Tuesday.

Rondon, 74, had been ailing for some time after having surgery.

A motion is before the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation (SGRC) to have the Toco Recreation Ground renamed in honour of former SGRC chairman.
