Police Service To Lend Support As Praedial Larceny Unit Ramps Up Manpower

The Police Service will provide some level of coverage until the Praedial larceny Unit at Carlsen Field, Chaguanas, is fully staffed and provided with the necessary equipment.

Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture Land and Fisheries, Avinash Singh, says the Ministry is eighty five percent complete in the recruitment process of inspectors, sergeants and corporals, and they will be engaged in the coming weeks.

Minister Singh provided the update to the Senate on Tuesday where he was asked to provide an update on the Unit’s urgent need to provide assistance to a livestock farmer whose animals were stolen from his farm located a few metres from its offices at Carlsen Field, Chaguanas.

It was indicated the training will last six weeks and will be completed by the end of August 2023.
