There is no word yet on when the official results from yesterday’s PNM internal elections can be expected.
News Power now spoke with incumbent Public Relations officer, Laurel Lezama-Lee Sing who noted that up till midnight last night, results were still being counted.
Attempts to reach Election Supervisory Committee Chairman Anthony Roberts were unsuccessful.
Mrs Lezama-Lee Sing also responded to claims by attorneys for leadership candidate Karen Nunez-Tesheira that the party is able cross reference and determine which candidates persons would have voted for.
She said although corresponding numbers are written on both the polling list and the ballot booklet, the ballots are separated from the booklet before being counted and there is no opportunity to cross reference the ballots with the voter list.
