64 persons ticketed for various offences in Oropouche

A road traffic exercise carried out in the Oropouche district between the hours of 3pm to 11pm on Tuesday 16th February, 2021, resulted in the issuance of 64 tickets.

The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Brandon-John, Supt Singh, ASP Ramdeo, ASP Simon, ASP Mathura and supervised by Cpl Jhagroo, and included officers from the South Western Division Traffic Unit. Persons were checked for facial masks and were found to be in compliance with the Covid-19 regulations.

The breakdown of the 64 tickets issued are as follows:
29 – excess speed
9- no seat belt
15-no id light
3-defective fittings
4-no booster seat
2-drive no Certificate of Insurance
2-no headlamps

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service will continue to carry out road traffic exercises throughout the country, and is reminding drivers to follow the road traffic regulations which would lead to greater road safety and avoid the risk of being ticketed.
