PNM denounces “vile” behavior of PEP leader during campaigning in Point Fortin

The People’s National Movement (PNM) Point Fortin Constituency Executive is vehemently denouncing the vile and reprehensible behaviour of Progressive Empowerment Party’s (PEP) leader Phillip Alexander, who they claim attempted to force a confrontation with a PNM candidate while campaigning in the Borough on Saturday.

In a statement, the PNM said Alexander hosted a Facebook live video where he was aggressively shouting and loudly knocking on the campaign office for the PNM candidate for New Village in Point Fortin Leslie Pascall.

“We reject the bullying belligerence, and we reject that pathetic attempt by you and your handful of supporters to drag Point Fortin to those low levels. The party’s executive wants these mocking pretenders to know that Point is Love and we will not allow these annoyances to attack our sensibilities. The executive sincerely hopes that the Ethics Council is ‘monitoring’ these acts of aggression and will condemn same with alacrity,” the release stated.

The party said it would neither be goaded or baited.

However, in response to the release, Alexander admitting knocking on the candidates door, but denied banging.

Instead, he has accused the PNM of hijacking elections by creating distractions.
